Garden Party Planning perfection

The sunny weather is confirmed, the invites have been sent (well, the written text messages at least!) and now you require a checklist of how to make this the very best BBQ garden party ever!

What instantly one thinks of when you envisage a garden  party - summer sunshine, bright colorful decorations and amazingly delicious food…..so follow our guide and you'll be hosting the Garden Party of season!

Plan Your Menu
You have to think about the following ‘categories’- meat, vegetarian, sides, desserts & drinks.
The star from the show (meat!) should be the highest quality you can afford - it will make all of the different. Marinated chicken pieces, sausages and burgers really are a staple, but think about some slight variations for example lamb chops with a mint marinade plus some steaks, these will be a welcome switch to the usual BBQ meat be going down a treat with your guests.

Always remember your vegetarian guests too; you don’t would like them to feel left out by any means so make as much effort using their food as you do with everyone else. There are several great veggie alternatives within the supermarkets now.

To accompany your meats/veggie options you'll need some side dishes and healthier choices for those opting for a ‘lighter’ meal. So some lovely big salads, pasta dishes, possibly even some macaroni cheese. It’s additionally a nice idea to have some sliced peppers, cucumber, celery etc with dips for the guests to snack on prior to the food is ready.

Obviously dessert is important for those with a sweet tooth - a conventional trifle always goes down well and could be prepared well in advance. A fruit salad is great for the ‘health conscience’ and maybe a cheesecake as a substitute option. Ideally each different food ‘category’ of food ought to be placed on different tables, offering a buffet for the guests to help themselves.

And also to finish off…..the beverages! Remember not everybody will want to drink alcohol so have a wide selection of both for your guests. Pimps is definitely an obvious favourite in the summer time; fill with a lot of fresh fruit and serve inside a lovely big bowl. Also, come up with a non-alcoholic fruit punch. Allow it to be as special as the Pimps so that your friends that are off the alcohol don’t seem like they are missing out.

Do It In fashion
There are so many wonderfully colorful garden decorations now - really go to town and really go for it. Get some patterned bunting around the garden fence and lots of bright and summery disposable cups, plates and cutlery. Furthermore these look the part but they result in the cleaning aftermath a much easier project for you! To take your party in to the night, get some lantern style exterior lights. These can be purchased as battery powered fairy lights and look so effective when the sun goes down. Its also smart to get some citronella candles for the evening to help keep the nasty insects from your guests. These days BBQ’s come in all shapes, colors and sizes so select one that matches the theme from party, there no need to spend lots of cash, cheap BBQ’s can be just as stylish his or her more expensive counterparts.

Enjoy!!!
Get everything organized in advance so you can enjoy yourself too. You don’t desire to be running around like a headless chicken the whole time and then have the all the clearing to do too - where’s the enjoyment in that?! It’s a great idea to ask your friends and relatives to bring something with them too which means you don’t have spend the 3 days prior to the party slaving away in the kitchen area.
